Professor Pierre Quenneville from the University of Auckland visited SRIBS and conducted thematic exchanges
Recently, Professor Pierre Quenneville, former Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Auckland, visited the Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science (SRIBS) to engage in thematic discussions on research related to seismic resilience in engineering structures. The meeting was attended by Wang Zhuolin, Deputy General Manager of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of the SRIBS Group, and Xu Qingfeng, Chief Engineer of SRIBS. Relevant heads of the Structural Institute and Renovation Institute also participated.
Professor Quenneville presented on "Seismic Design of Resilient Structures — A Perspective," sharing advances in resilient friction self-centering dampers and applications of low-damage construction and retrofitting technologies. Leng Yubing, Deputy Director of the Structural Institute, introduced SRIBS's innovations and research in seismic resilience. Attendees held in-depth discussions with Professor Quenneville on self-centering structures and damping technologies.
During the visit, Professor Quenneville and his team toured the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Engineering Structure Safety.
